I don’t consider myself a ‘foodie’ but instead, I like to equip clients with the ability to make food choices that will make them feel satisfied, give them sustained energy levels and support their overall health and wellbeing. 

I am a firm believer in everything in moderation and I am very much an advocate for making informed healthy choices and still enjoying life and food too!

Food is medicine: Our diets are one of our very first tools to obtaining and maintaining optimal health. The old adage “You are what you eat” couldn’t be a more potent truth and what needs to be additionally considered is that ‘we are what we absorb and assimilate.’ So gut health and function may be contributing factors to our dietary choices. We can use diet (along with other tools) to address and support this crucial foundation to health and wellbeing.

Rather than offering meal plans and particular diets, individuals are educated about food and food choices.  Any prescribed diets are often used as a therapeutic tool to address any underlying health concerns, and sometimes as an experiment so you can experience how your body feels with certain food inclusions or exclusions. This allows you to feel empowered to make informed decisions about your dietary and food choices.

Dietary Advice

Guidance is offered around what foods to eat, when to eat and basic meal ideas - all based on your individual needs, nutritional and lifestyle requirements. Particular diets may be advised as temporary therapeutic aids for healing. You’ll leave a consultation with a list of things to implement in your diet.

I prefer to work with a client to implement these changes slowly, as I believe that slow changes become long-term, everyday habits where as fast and large changes become short term aberration.

Functional Foods

Functional foods are said “to have physiological benefits and/or reduce the risk of chronic disease beyond basic nutritional functions.” These are also regularly coined ‘superfoods’.

You will be advised of foods and dietary outlines that can be added to your diet and will have added health benefits for your individual needs. You will be given ideas on how to easily add these foods to your diet and you may find that these are just everyday foods that you likely eat anyway!

Metabolic Adaptation - Weight Maintenance

I can work with you and teach you how to hack any metabolic adaptation that has been stalling any issues you have previously experienced with either weight loss or weight gain. Metabolic adaptation hacking may involve calorie counting, information around food choices and include working and underlying factors such as hormone support or gut dysfunction.

The aim is to have you reaching your goal weight without having to survive on very little food and where possible I use foods that are fun, enjoyable and diverse in nutrition.

Food Prep

The kitchen can be either a place of enjoyment or a place of of stress depending upon the individual and their previous experiences.
I believe that having food already prepared and ready to go can be a game changer for people who feel time poor, have a busy schedule or are just generally too fatigued to cook a proper meal from scratch.
These practices reduce the risk of making poor food choices when you may be feeling caught short. You will receive food hacks that make having less time less of an reason to eat poorly and feel poorly. With these hacks you will be able to eat nutritious, varied, healthy meals without feeling stressed in the kitchen.
